IMPACT Your Acceptance Program
Designed for high school students looking to conquer the college application process, IMPACT your Acceptance will help you choose prospective schools, complete your essay(s), fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and learn several valuable skills - from writing personal statements to requesting recommendation letters - that will be useful in college and beyond!
The multi-week no-cost program delivers ongoing support to 15 seniors embarking upon the college application process. Over the course of 15 weeks, the IMPACT Team hosts in-person and virtual workshops that walk select seniors through various steps of applying to college. We explain how to complete the FAFSA and seek out scholarships, discuss how to request recommendation letters, and provide each participant with one-on-one writing support for essays and personal statements.

I loved my experience with IYA. It really helped me with making the college application so much easier as well as school. Because of the things I did with IYA in class this year I have barely had to do work because all of our assignments are things that I have already done with IYA. Also my writing coaches were so amazing and nice they really helped me understand how an essay should be formatted and that no essay is perfect and can always be looked over gain. I hope to stay in contact with everyone I have met through IYA in the future

IMPACTdmv has really helped me with my whole college application experience. Ive learned a lot of new things and I feel like I would have been very lost and behind with out this program. My writing coach has helped me improve my story telling skills. For example how to lay out a story so it can be organized and eye catching. I have gotten into my number one school, Winston Salem State University, with the help of IMPACT.

The IYA Program is an awesome program. Not only did the program help me with my college essays and applications, but it also helped me to have more confidence in my writing and myself as a whole. I want to give a shout out to Ms. Kyla for helping me to write the best essays ever, and I want to give a shout out to Ms. M for pushing me to do my best.
